The Secret Diary of an Internet Support Worker
Feb 23rd

I get into work late today ...... I only had a few pints at the pub last night, but I seem very ill after it. Not really feeling hung over though. Anyway I'm on newsgroup duty today. There's thousands of messages, and I don't think I'll be able to answer them all today. Life would be so much simpler for us if we could just tell them what the problems were as they were reported. It appears that we've almost stopped reporting faults. There's not much point. The engineers aren't answering their phones. I struggle through and answer about 150 posts. All I can say to people is that at the time they reported their fault there were no problems. If I write anything else I'll get into trouble. We're on a complete denial of any problems until we can find the engineers. When I leave for home I can hear foxes howling in the distance. I go to the pub on my way home, that stuff is quite addictive.
